4th, 5th and 6th class paid a visit to the University of Limerick on Tuesday, November 10th to take part in the Maths Magic Workshop. The workshop was one of a series of events being held in the University as part of Science Week Ireland. Ben Sparks from the University of Bath was the guest speaker on the day. The workshop demonstrated and experimented with ways of producing shock, surprise and magic (with a little help from maths!). Some of the content included number tricks, proof (including some algebra) and card tricks. As well as attending the workshop, the pupils got a chance to experience a little bit of college life in the impressive surroundings of UL. Comments are closed.
