We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. The school will reopen again for the new school term on 6th January 2020.
Beannachtaí na Nollag oraibh agus athbhliain faoi sheán is faoi mhaise daoibh go léir ó na daltaí i Scoil Náisiúnta Baile Thomáis! We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. The school will reopen again for the new school term on 6th January 2020. There was great excitement today when Santa came to the school. After visiting all of the classes, Santa very kindly gave a gift to each pupil. Many thanks to the Thomastown N.S. Parent Association who made sure that Santa was able to visit the school at such a busy time of the year. A huge thanks to Santa and his helpers for the day, Cian and James.
We received a delivery of tag rugby equipment from Aldi this week. The delivery included tag rugby belts, rugby balls, speed ladders, agility hurdles, training bibs, cones, marker discs and ball bags. Thanks to everyone who collected the Aldi Play Rugby stickers over the past few months for us. We look forward to making good use of all this equipment!
Following on from the great job the Infants did wrapping presents during their Aistear lesson, the office elf was inspired and decided to do a bit of his own wrapping. He very thoughtfully wrapped the office for Christmas.
The Infants are looking at Santa's workshop this week in Aistear. They had a present wrapping session today. The good news is that they are all fully trained to wrap presents this Christmas!
A reminder that the Thomastown Parents Council will hold their Annual Coffee Morning and Cake Sale on Sunday, 8th December in Kilfeacle Hall at 10.30am. All support welcome.
The Infants visited their 4th, 5th and 6th Class Buddies this morning to thank them for helping them on the hike yesterday. They gave their Buddy a Thank You card and some chocolates.
Following our hike yesterday, the staff of Aherlow House Hotel very kindly provided hot chocolate and marshmallows for the pupils - a very well deserved treat at the end of the day!
Yesterday, the entire school visited the Glen of Aherlow Nature Park. The pupils and staff hiked through the woods as part of our school sponsored walk. We saw lots of different flora and fauna, Christ the King Statue and of course the Galtee Mountains as we trekked along the old Bianconi road. Thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts so far.
The Infants have been looking at houses and homes over the last week. As part of this, they made houses of straw, sticks and bricks in Art!
