"Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!"
We said farewell to our wonderful 6th Class pupils Abigail, Alan, Brian, Emily, Jamie, Lily, Nicholas, Lucy, Nicholas and Ryan last week. Thank you all for your fantastic contribution to Thomastown NS and we wish you every success in your respective post-primary schools. Go n-éirí go geal libh!
"Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to Great Places! You're off and away!" Our Sports Day was back once again this year. The pupils from Junior Infants to 6th Class took part in various events with their teams. We had the usual sports activities and races as well as a poster competition, street art and even a bit of dancing thrown in for good measure. The ice-cream van also arrived on the day to cool everyone down!
The pupils in Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st Class & 2nd Class headed to the University of Limerick for their school tour this year. Activities throughout the day included Relay Obstacle Courses, Last Person Standing, Disco Dome, Wrecking Ball, Athletics, Parachute Games, Giant Obstacle Course and the Inflatable Water Slide. Some of the pupils even had the added bonus of having Jake Morris, Tipperary Senior Hurler, as their group leader. We had lots of tired but happy bodies at the end of the day!
We were delighted to welcome Conor Bowe, Tipperary GAA Senior Hurler, to the school on Friday. Conor was joined by Brian Fogarty of Fiserv and Mark Butler, the West Tipperary GDA, as the 3rd - 6th Class pupils took part in a series of hurling and football target and crossbar challenges. Well done to Lily Flannery who was the overall winner and received a Fiserv goodie bag. Thanks to Conor, Brian and Mark for setting up the challenges on the pitch and special thanks to Conor for signing lots and lots of autographs!
We were thrilled on Thursday when we were notified that our 4th Class pupil, Benjamin Moloney, has been chosen as the Spar FAI Primary School 5s Future Journalist for 2022. Children from schools who participated in the FAI Primary 5s competition in the Aviva Stadium in May were invited to submit a written report about their experience of the day. Benjamin's report was deemed to be the winning entry, an achievement that he can be very proud of.
His prize includes:
We were delighted to visit Dualla NS for a great morning of camogie and ladies football on Thursday. Thank you to Dualla NS for the invitation!
