Congratulations to Emily Marnane who has won two supreme championships recently. Her first success was at Newbridge College Horse Show and the second win was at Cavan Equifestival. Emily's pony is called Creevelea Midnight Gambler (better known as Ollie!). Emily has won many events at horse shows around the country. She brought in a small collection of her prizes to school this week. Well done on all of your great work Emily. Earlier this year James O' Dwyer (4th Class) wrote a letter to Tipperary hurler Noel McGrath. James is a huge fan of Noel McGrath. In his letter James told Noel about how he regularly attends Tipperary hurling matches. He also wrote about his own hurling career to date and he told Noel about his aspirations to play for Tipperary in the future!
Last Sunday morning, Noel McGrath paid a surprise visit to James' home. Noel presented James with the jersey that he wore in the 2017 All Ireland semi final against Galway. They chatted about hurling for a while and Noel signed the jersey for James before he left. There was great excitement in school on Monday when James brought in the signed jersey and told his classmates all about his surprise visitor!! Well done to the pupils in 5th and 6th Class who competed in the County Tipperary Primary Schools Hurling and Football Skills competition in Dr. Morris Park, Thurles recently.
Hard luck to our Under 11 Camogie team who were narrowly defeated by Toomevara in the County Semi Final.
Well done to the pupils from Thomastown N.S. who represented Bansha in the County Tipperary Community Games Finals. The Under 14 Ladies Football team won their County Final against Templemore while the Under 12 Ladies Football team were unfortunately defeated by Moycarkey in their County Final.
Well done to Kate Marnane following her fantastic performance for the Tipperary Primary Game Camogie team in Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday against Cork.
Best wishes to the pupils in 2nd Class who will receive their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 18th in Golden Church at 11am. We wish them a happy and memorable day.
Well done to our Under 13 Camogie team who participated in the Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol Blitz in Golden recently. The girls played against Knockavilla, Donaskeigh, Ballyporeen and St. Michael's Tipperary Town.
Best wishes to the pupils in 5th and 6th class who will receive the sacrament of Confirmation on Friday, May 10th in Golden Church.
As part of this week's Aistear lesson, the Infants had a Teddy Bear's Picnic. They had afternoon tea, showed their teddy bears around the school and finished off the day with some ice-cream. A great day was had by all!
