Congratulations to all 41 of our pupils who completed their respective races and did the school proud. Well done to our individual and team medal winners as well.
The 3rd - 6th Class pupils were delighted to get the opportunity to take part in the County Tipperary Primary Schools Cross Country Championships in Thurles Crokes Athletic Club on Wednesday. These championships could not take place over the past two years due to the health restrictions in place so for the vast majority of our pupils, this was their first experience of the event. Over 3,500 pupils from schools in Tipperary, Limerick and Cork took part in 39 races throughout the day. Congratulations to all 41 of our pupils who completed their respective races and did the school proud. Well done to our individual and team medal winners as well. Good luck to everyone involved with Golden Kilfeacle Ladies Football in the County Junior Final v Ardfinnan on Saturday 1st October in New Inn at 3pm. Beir bua agus beannacht!
Following on from Golden Kilfeacle GAA club's great win in the West Tipperary Under 17 A Hurling Final yesterday, special mention must go to the past pupils from Thomastown NS involved with the team - congratulations to Colin Tuohy, Ian Ryan, Sam Hall, Cian Lonergan, James McLaughlin, Kevin Hogan, Charlie Hall and Aidan Tuohy.
A proud day for the club and the school, well done boys! Well done to our 2nd Class pupil Cathal Leahy who competed in the Moyne Athletic Club Open Cross Country event for Under 9 Boys today. Cathal gave a brilliant performance and went home with a deserved medal for his efforts - super stuff Cathal!
Congratulations to our past pupil Colin Tuohy who was announced as a recipient of The Garda Youth Award. This award celebrates outstanding young people aged between 13 and 21 years and recognises the good work they are doing throughout their communities. Everyone in Thomastown NS extends our congratulations to Colin and the Tuohy family, a well-deserved award for a fantastic young man!
We were delighted to take part in an art workshop to celebrate the Cashel Arts Festival taking place this week. The pupils from 1st - 4th Class created their own flags through printmaking. Many thanks to Elke Buhl who helped facilitate the workshop. The pupils were delighted with their colourful and creative flags!
Everyone has well and truly settled back into school life. Following the completion of our first full week back, it's been great seeing everyone again!
Congratulations to Isabelle Fogarty who was the overall winner of a Teagasc sponsored national art competition aimed at raising the awareness of the risks to children from agricultural machinery and animals as well as encouraging families to think about farm safety.
Teagasc received over 100 entries and Isabelle's creative 4-in-1 picture entitled "Don't be daft, stay away from the PTO shaft" was deemed to be the winning submission. Isabelle's entry was also featured in a recent edition of the Irish Examiner. Congratulations Isabelle, what a fantastic achievement! We welcomed our new Junior Infants to the school last week. They have been very busy settling into "big school" over the past few days. We are delighted to have you all in Thomastown NS!
