Well done to our three teams who participated in the FAI Primary 5s Regional Qualifier in Cahir Park FC. A great day was had by everyone there! Congratulations to one of our teams who qualified for the County Finals after Easter following today’s games. As part of our Aistear theme based on the Garden Centre this month, the Infants planted flowers and seeds today. We can’t wait to look after them and watch them grow!
Best wishes to Adam McGrath, a past pupil of Thomastown N.S., who will be playing for the Tipperary Under 20 Football team in the Munster GAA Championship Quarter Final v Limerick in the LIT Gaelic Grounds tomorrow night (Wednesday, February 19th).
We are collecting the Aldi Play Rugby stickers once again this term. Each poster requires 300 stickers. If anyone has stickers at home and if you know of any family members or neighbours who may have them then we'd greatly appreciate if you could send them into the school before the closing date of April 24th.
Pupils in 3rd and 4th class have been constructing and experimenting with Knex sets this week. They have been working with gears and levers and solving problems along the way. They built a variety of machines, bridges and even ferris wheels. The finished constructions are very impressive.
To celebrate St. Valentine's Day, the pupils in 5th & 6th Class created cards in Art this week using geometric hearts.
The Infants went on a nature walk today. We were looking for different types of birds. We saw willy wagtails, crows and robins. We also got a thrilling surprise when we saw a rabbit scamper across the field...quickly followed by all the Infants!
