Kilfeacle & District RFC's win in last week's All Ireland Junior Cup Final was all the more memorable because of the presence of four past pupils on the team. Congratulations to Jack McLaughlin, Bryan McLaughlin, Brian Barlow and Christopher Farrell on their fantastic achievement. Kilfeacle & District RFC are the first ever Tipperary team and only the second ever Munster team to win the title. We were delighted to have the McLaughlin brothers, Jack and Bryan, in the school today with the cup. Hopefully their visit will inspire the next generation to play for the Blues. Well done boys! We were delighted this morning to receive a visit from the newly crowned All Ireland Junior Cup Champions as members of Kilfeacle & District RFC came to the school. Pat Heuston (Club Chairman), Jack McLaughlin (team member), Bryan McLaughlin (team captain & team member) and Darren Lowry (team member) were all in attendance along with, of course, the All Ireland Junior Cup. Pat addressed all the pupils while Jack, Bryan and Darren were on hand to take lots and lots of photos. Congratulations once again to all in the club and hopefully the team will make it a League/Cup double in a few weeks time!
We are delighted to announce that we have made the final shortlist for a Cumann na mBunscol National Award. We are one of three schools in the country that have been shortlisted in the Small School of the Year Category. The overall winner will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in the Anner Hotel, Thurles on Friday 6th March. Well done to our pupils for all of the outstanding work that they did on our GAA project.
A reminder that our Open Night will take place on Tuesday February 11th at 7.30pm. Parents of children who are due to start school in September 2020 are welcome to attend. Enrolment application forms for next September are available in the school office. Applications should be returned to the school by Tuesday February 27th.
We would like to sincerely thank Godolphin Ireland for their generous donation of €1000 to our school. This money will be used to purchase Science equipment and nets for our goalposts.
Congratulations to all in Kilfeacle & District RFC following their historic win in the All Ireland Junior Cup Final on Saturday. Well done to all the past pupils from Thomastown N.S. involved with the team!
Best wishes to all the past pupils from Thomastown N.S. and all involved in Kilfeacle & District RFC in the All Ireland Junior Cup Final this Saturday.
Following on from their visit to the Infants earlier today, the Gardaí spoke with the other classes in the school. The pupils then got the opportunity to check out the Garda car, an experience they thoroughly enjoyed!
The Infants are learning about people that help us in the community and Ms. Donovan organised a visit from the Gardaí. The children loved seeing them and their car!
The pupils from Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Class certainly pulled some interesting poses for today's Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol County/Club Colours Day!
