The team of Aidan Tuohy, Robbie McGrath and Evan Kennedy along with team manager Colin Tuohy took part in the County Primary Schools Football Skills Final in Dr. Morris Park, Thurles. The boys undertook a number of different challenges and were marked on the results. With the winning school scoring 56 points overall, the Thomastown boys ended with a final score of 55 points and finished second in the competition. Well done boys!
Many of our current and past pupils have had lots of success on the sporting field recently. Well done to the following:
Two teams from the school took part in the McGrath Open Girls Tennis Tournament held in the Rosanna and County tennis clubs in Tipperary Town. Thomastown B finished third overall in their group and Thomastown A reached the semi final stage of the competition. Well done to all the girls who represented the school so well and thank you to St. Annes secondary school who organised the tournament.
The Under 13 Hurling team took on Moycarkey last week in the Cumann na mBunscol Hurling Championship in Cashel. Well done to the boys who defeated Moycarkey in what was a very sporting and keenly contested game.
The Under 11 Camogie team travelled to Thurles last Friday for the Cumann na mBunscol Blitz. There were super performances from all the team. On the day, the girls defeated Lissenhall and Rosegreen but were unfortunately narrowly beaten by Cashel GNS in their final game. This meant that Cashel moved forward to the County Final. Well done girls!
Well done to the Under 11 Hurling team who recently played in the Cumann na mBunscol Blitz in Drombane. The team played games against Upperchurch, Loughmore and Knockavilla. There were great performances from all the boys on the day.
Best wishes to the pupils in 5th and 6th Class who will be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation on Friday, May 5th in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Golden.
