We wish all our pupils and their families a very happy and peaceful Christmas. The school will re-open after the holidays on Monday, January 9th 2017 for the new term.
The school choir (1st-6th Class) will be singing at the Christmas Eve Mass in Kilfeacle Church at 7.30pm.
There was great excitement throughout the school on the day of the holidays as Santa paid a visit to all the classes. Santa spoke to the pupils, took some photos and even did the "dab". Many thanks to the Thomastown NS Parents' Council who provided Christmas Annuals for the pupils to take home and of course we have to say a big thank you to Santa for coming to visit.
Well done to all the pupils in the school who participated in our school mass and nativity play on December 21st in Kilfeacle Church. Many thanks to Fr. Coffey who celebrated the mass and thank you to all those who attended on the night.
The annual Infant Class Nativity Play took place this week. After many weeks of practice, the Infants performed the Nativity in front of a large crowd of parents and family members. Afterwards, the pupils received their own personalised Santa Letter. Well done to all involved.
Art in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes this week had a festive theme as the pupils created their own Handprint Christmas Cards.
As the daily delivery of fruit and vegetables has now finished, the next stage involves the pupils bringing in their own portion of fruit and vegetables. A certificate will be presented to the pupils once they have reached a certain stage. We are currently at the Bronze Stage and the pupils who have reached that stage were presented with their certificates today.
In preparation for the upcoming visit of Santa Claus, the Infants baked a very impressive and tasty "Santa's House" cake.
There will be a school mass and Christmas Nativity play on Wednesday, December 21st at 7.30pm in Kilfeacle Church. All are very welcome to attend on the night.
The 1st and 2nd Class pupils are busily counting down the days to Christmas using their Advent Calendar. The calendar originally came from Brazil and is a very important feature of the classroom at this time of the year. Many thanks to Mary Marnane who very kindly donated the calendar to the class.
