Junior and Senior Infants were learning about the dentist this week in Aistear! They role played the dentist surgery, made mouths with marshmallow teeth, decided which food would make a healthy mouth and built dentist surgeries from blocks! Congratulations to Bansha Celtic FC who recently won the Under 13 Tipperary Cup Final v Slievenamon. The team included one of our current pupils as well as a number of our past pupils. Well done boys!
Congratulations to our quiz team who won the West Final of the Tipperary Primary School GAA Quiz today in Golden. Huge congratulations to our Under 11 Football team who won the County Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol Final against Moyne in Littleton today. The team gave a great performance from start to finish and all of the finest skills of gaelic football were on display for the spectators in attendance. Well done everyone!
Hard luck to our Under 11 Ladies Football team who were beaten by Boherlahan in the County Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol Final in Cashel on Tuesday. This was a first County Final appearance for the vast majority of the girls and all of the team can be very proud of their efforts in this year's competition.
To celebrate Science Week and in conjunction with the Tipperary Festival of Science and Science Foundation Ireland, the school hosted a workshop entitled "Rappers Guide to the Solar System". Pupils from 1st - 6th class were treated to a tour of the Solar System with a difference. Science presenter Jon Chase demonstrated just how extreme our Solar System can be using raps, demos and lots of audience participation. Examples of the topics covered were: How big is the Solar System? How cold is a crater? What's the smelliest planet?
Hard luck to our Under 13 Football team who were unfortunately beaten by Toomevara in the County Semi Final that was played in the Ragg last week. Well done to all the pupils involved on reaching that stage of the competition.
Please note that there will be no school for pupils on Friday, 29th November to facilitate a staff inservice day.
