Many thanks to all those who attended Proclamation Day on March 15th. The celebration included the pupils performing a number of pieces on the tin whistle, Ciaran McCarthy playing two pieces on the uilleann pipes, Grace and Shona Hogan dancing an Irish Reel, all of the pupils singing "Grace" and "Ar Scath A Cheile" and the senior classes reading their 2016 Proclamation which they had created themselves along with of course the raising of the flag, a laying of a wreath in memory of all those who lost their lives and the singing of our National Anthem. Thank you to Michael Fitzgerald, Chairperson of the Board of Management, who acted as MC on the day, Martina O'Keeffe who read the original 1916 Proclamation for those in attendance and created the wreath along with Mairead Doyle, Willie Morrissey who started and concluded the ceremony by playing the bagpipes, Roy Galvin who conducted the pupils when playing the tin whistle, PJ Holmes who erected the flag pole in the school grounds, the Parents' Council who provided everyone with refreshments after the ceremony and all the parents who generously donated home baking.
