Following multiple school closures over the past year, we were delighted to finally get the chance to officially raise our GAA 5 Star flag and be recognised as a GAA 5 Star Centre. This status is awarded to Primary Schools that undertake to deliver a programme of Gaelic Games activity that is age-appropriate and meets the developmental needs of children within the school.
The official flag raising was performed by Niall Heffernan, our past pupil and Munster and All Ireland Under 20 Hurling Champion 2019 with Tipperary. Niall was also kept busy speaking to the pupils, posing for photographs and signing plenty of autographs - a great ambassador for the school!
