The pupils in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class visited the Cabragh Wetlands in Thurles today. The pupils participated in orienteering, pond dipping and learned about the many different species that live in and around the area such as the Goldfinch, the Grey Heron, the Barn Owl and the Pine Marten to name but a few. The pupils also identified the foliage native to the hedgerows in the wetlands such as the Silverbirch, Ash, Rose Hip, Haw and Sloe. A very enjoyable day was had by all the pupils. Many thanks to all the staff in the Cabragh Wetlands for such an informative and educational day. Comments are closed.
