In addition to STEM, the pupils acquired other skills such as project management, presentation skills, teamwork, leadership and PR. Following all of the preparations, 5th and 6th Class travelled to the Dell EMC campus in Limerick to participate in the Finals today. The day was packed full of activities and events for everyone including a PR presentation, a judges' review of the robot, school project and engineering logbooks as well as the robot driving skills challenge and robot programming challenge. There were 24 schools from Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford participating on the day. The school finished 9th overall once the scores for all the various competitions were calculated. Well done to the 5th and 6th Class pupils who were fantastic throughout the day and a huge thanks to Colin Healy from Dell EMC who visited the school in the lead up to the competition and helped with the design, building and programming of our robot, "Lord of the Ring".
