After many, many weeks of hard work and collecting, Friday June 10th saw the completion of the Copper Mile Challenge. The wet weather meant that some of the event was moved indoors and a sea of copper coins could be found in each of the classrooms. The collection buckets were emptied and everybody got down to the hard task of completing the mile. Many thanks to everyone who helped place the coins (pupils, parents, teachers, family members and people from around the community), everyone who baked and provided refreshments, everyone who donated coins and the members of the Parents Council who thought up of this novel idea in the first place. Irish TV were on hand to film the event which will be broadcast on either on June 25th or July 2nd while Tipp FM also made a recording to be broadcast on the station. Well done to everyone involved! Also, best wishes to Irish TV presenter Fiona O'Sullivan who will represent Tipperary at the Rose of Tralee in August. Comments are closed.
