Despite the disappointment of the final game, all of the players can be proud to be All Ireland Runner's Up. The girls were presented with their medals by former Republic of Ireland International player, Jason McAteer. A fantastic day was had by all and the players got the chance to experience playing in the Aviva along with having access to the dressing rooms, warm up area and players tunnel, something that will no doubt never be forgotten. Many thanks to all our supporters who made the trip to Dublin also.
The 6th Class girls headed to the Aviva Stadium, Dublin for the FAI All Ireland Primary Schools Soccer Finals on May 11th. The girls represented Tipperary and Munster and on the day play against the Ulster, Connacht and Leinster champions. The first game was against Scoil Mhuire from Lacken in Cavan. The girls were in control from early on and had a comfortable win. The next game was against St. Joseph's from Woodford in Galway. Again, the girls showed great composure and claimed another victory. The final game of the day was a winner takes all clash against Ardnagrath NS from Athlone in Westmeath. This was without doubt the most dramatic game of the day. With the sides level at 2-2 going into the final minute, Ardnagrath struck for their third goal. With time almost up, the girls tried in vain to get an all important equaliser but unfortunately it wasn't to be.
