Everyone in Thomastown NS is very proud of you both!
Yesterday's visit from the Cashel Community School Harty Cup Champions was made all the more special as we got the chance to welcome back two of our own, Aidan and Colin Tuohy. Congratulations to the two boys on their great achievement on Sunday and on securing a much sought after Harty Cup medal. We wish Aidan, Colin and everyone involved with the team the very best of luck in the upcoming All Ireland Semi Final on Sunday 4th March.
Everyone in Thomastown NS is very proud of you both! We were delighted to welcome the Harty Cup Champions from Cashel Community School to the school yesterday! Thank you to all twelve of the Golden Kilfeacle GAA clubmen who visited us and whose exploits on Sunday are helping to inspire the next generation. Also, many thanks to Mr. Brendan Ryan, manager of the Harty Cup team, for his words to our pupils during the visit. And a final thank you for the donation of sliotars from Cashel Community School, which will be put to good use!
Well done to our 1st & 2nd Class pupils who took part in the Tipperary GAA Coaching & Games Ground Hurling Blitz in the Canon Hayes Sports Complex, Tipperary Town today. Excellent performances from all three of our teams, they're already looking forward to their next day out!
Thanks to David Byrne, West Tipperary GDA, for organising the event. We were delighted to be part of the wonderful Peace Proms - Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland performance last Sunday in the University of Limerick. In front of an audience of three thousand excited family members and friends, schools from Tipperary, Cork, Clare, Kerry, Offaly and even as far away as Mayo and Longford gathered in the UL Arena.
Forty-five pupils from Thomastown NS formed part of the Peace Proms choir, which comprised of over one thousand singers on the day. The pupils got the chance to perform with the incredible Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland and talented singers and musicians such as Lauren Murphy (vocal soloist), Conal Duffy (uilleann piper), Richie Dunne (violinist), Grahame Harris (pipe major), the New Ross Pipe band as well as Highland and Irish dancers. The performance was led by the world-renowned conductor, Greg Beardsell. Many traditional, classic and modern songs and pieces of music; such as Hall of Fame, Lord of the Dance, Amazing Grace, I'm a Believer and You're the Voice to name but a few; were performed on the day. To cap off an already fantastic day, the pupils were delighted to get the opportunity to meet with Greg Beardsell after the concert and have a photo a taken with him. One of our music enthusiasts, Josh, even got the chance to chat with Noah, the guitarist with the orchestra and play a few chords on his guitar! This is the third time that the school has performed in the Peace Proms and we hope to have many more opportunities in the future to take part in such a brilliant event! |
