The Regional Cultural Centre (RCC) in Letterkenny is running the ‘Home is where the Art is’ Challenge for the duration of the Covid19 Self-Isolation period. The challenge is to ensure kids stay creative while at home and it is open to all primary school pupils. Children will be given a theme and asked to draw or paint something that inspires them related to that theme, as loosely as they want.
Parents are then asked to take a picture of the artwork with their phone (with child’s first name, age, school) and send it to the Regional Cultural Centre Letterkenny via Facebook and it will display it on its page the following evening. People from all over Ireland, Europe and the United States have commented saying they’re going to have their children participate and the plan is then to run an exhibition of the art at the RCC once things are back to normal. To partake in the challenge visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/RCCforKIDS We have been instructed to close the school from this evening (Thursday, 12th March) until 29th March as outlined in the Government announcement regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. We will keep you informed of any updates in relation to this matter.
