We reached the eighth and final week of our Sport Skills Challenges last week. It was a combination of soccer and basketball skills on display this time. Well done to all the pupils from Junior Infants up to 6th Class who participated throughout the eight weeks. There was super engagement and effort throughout from everyone! It was English Reading with a twist today as 1st & 2nd Class decided to make the most of the lovely weather and head outside to do their daily reading. They made great use of every available spot on the pitch!
After having to postpone a couple of times due to the wet weather over the past few weeks, we managed to dodge the rain showers and get back on track with our Sport Skills Challenges. Weeks Five, Six and Seven saw the pupils taking part in a combination of soccer, gaelic football, rugby and basketball skills. As usual, everyone rose to the challenges that they were given and enjoyed themselves in the process as well!
1st & 2nd Class recently completed their final rugby coaching session for this term in the Munster Rugby Development Coaching Programme. It was the first experience of rugby for the majority of the pupils and, judging by the smiles on their faces every week, it's safe to say that they thoroughly enjoyed each session!
The tackle bags were well and truly tested during last week's rugby coaching session with Chilly! Last week, James 'Chilly' Hogan visited us for the final time this academic year for one more rugby coaching session. James has provided the pupils with top-class rugby coaching each week since last October as well as providing the pupils with an opportunity to get outside and enjoy themselves - something that has been vitally important over the past year. Thank you to Kilfeacle & District RFC who organised this fantastic coaching programme.
Thank you Chilly, we really appreciate all your hard work! |
