3rd and 4th Class visited the University of Limerick on Monday for their school tour this year. The pupils were able to avail of the wonderful facilities in UL and took part in many activities throughout the day including canoeing, rafting, swimming, eliminator, fun orienteering and wrecking ball. They also had the opportunity to visit the National Football Exhibition which is currently in UL. A great day was had by all! Well done to our tennis team of Ella O'Donnell, Kate Marnane, Kevin Hogan and Ian Ryan who won the Primary Schools' Tennis Cup Final today. This is the first time that the school has won this title.
Best wishes to our Under 13 Hurling panel who will take on Boher NS in the County Final on Tuesday, June 18th at 11.30am in Semple Stadium, Thurles. Beir Bua!
The pupils in 5th and 6th Class made the trip to Dublin on Monday to see the Republic of Ireland v Gibraltar Euro 2020 soccer qualifier game in the Aviva Stadium. There was great excitement as the pupils got the chance to see players such as Seamus Coleman, Darren Randolph and Shane Duffy play live for the first time and "Come on you boys in green" was sung more than once throughout the night.
Well done to the pupils in 3rd and 4th who participated in the Cahir Park AFC Soccer Tournament recently. A great time was had by all the pupils and there were fantastic performances throughout the day from both teams. The 4th Class team were narrowly beaten 1-0 in the Cup Semi Final.
Best wishes to Jake Flannery who is part of the Ireland Under 20 Rugby team participating in the World Cup in Argentina. Ireland's first game is against England on Tuesday, June 4th. They will then have further games against Australia and Italy in the group stages.
A reminder that the school will be closed on Monday, June 3rd (Bank Holiday Monday) and Tuesday, June 4th (Staff Planning Day). The school will reopen again as normal on Wednesday, June 5th.
