We were delighted to attend the Rockwell College 5th & 6th Class Tag Rugby Blitz recently. Huge thanks to everyone in Rockwell College who organised such a well-run and enjoyable event. The refreshments provided for everyone after the games were greatly appreciated as well. It was great to meet some of our past pupils also on the day! A video of Tomás completing one of the hurling drills at the GAA Skills Competition in Dr. Morris Park last week. Our 6th Class participated in the Tipperary Primary Schools GAA Skills competition in Dr. Morris Park last week. Well done to Tomás, Benjamin, Avril, Mia, Niamh and Lucy.
Congratulations to the boys and girls who celebrated their First Holy Communion on Saturday. We are very proud of you all. Thank you to Mrs. Ryan and Fr. Coffey for all of their work for the ceremony.
Best wishes to Jessica Byrnes in 6th Class who has been selected for the Tipperary Primary Game Camogie team. Jessica will be representing the school during half time in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship game between Tipperary and Cork in Semple Stadium this Sunday 19th May.
Enjoy your day, Jessica! It was a busy few days for the 5th & 6th Class pupils this week as they participated in the FAI Schools Primary 5s blitzes. Two teams headed to Cahir Park AFC on Monday for their qualifiers while another two teams were in Peake Villa AFC, Thurles today for their blitzes. Well done to all four of our teams who performed so brilliantly throughout and we had two fantastic days out. Thanks to Declan Barron, Tracy Gleeson and everyone in FAI South Tipperary and FAI North Tipperary for organising all the games.
Congratulations to our girls' squad who qualified for the County Finals in a few weeks time. The girls won the three games in their group and also won a playoff final v Dualla NS today to qualify. The final finished level after normal time, went to extra time but both teams still couldn't be separated at that stage so we went to a penalty shootout, which we thankfully won! 1st & 2nd Class had a great time at the hurling blitz in The Abbey School yesterday. Thank you very much to Denis O'Mahoney and David Byrne from Tipperary Games Development for inviting us along. We had a fantastic time. Thank you also to the staff and students in The Abbey School for their hospitality. A special word of thanks to Daniel, our past pupil, for keeping us topped up with tea and coffee throughout the day!
